REACHING NEW HEIGHTS is a feature length documentary film in production on the life and legacy of the American structural engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan, known as the ‘Einstein of structural engineering’ and ‘father of modern-day skyscrapers.’ Khan, a Muslim immigrant, designed the iconic Willis Tower (formerly Sears Willis) and the John Hancock Center in Chicago, along with architect Bruce Graham. Khan’s pioneering innovations in skyscraper construction literally transformed the landscape of America’s largest cities and paved the way for supertall skyscrapers worldwide.

A documentary on the legacy of Fazlur R. Khan is long overdue.
— Mir M. Ali, Art of the Skyscraper: The Genius of Fazlur Khan
Khan gave architects the ability to design buildings that they could only dream of before.
